Terry Scriven, Liberal Democrat parliamentary candidate for New Forest East, welcomed the recent Hampshire Constabulary statement that crime had fallen across the New Forest.
He also welcomed the commitment by Chief Inspector Gary Cooper that he would continue to work for even further reductions in the Forest.
Terry said, “This is all welcome news, however, the recent crime survey I carried out across the New Forest East constituency identified that residents wished to see greater police patrol visibility, greater accessibility to a police person to be able to physically report crime and for police stations to be open for longer".
If elected as the constituency MP in just a few days time, Terry is looking forward to discussing these issues with the Chief Constable.
